About Our Co-Sponsor -
ACCESSIBLE SPACE INC., ST. PAUL, MN
When
AHC embarked on its program in 1995 to create
accessible, affordable housing for persons
with severe mobility impairments, we decided
to seek a partnership with an existing,
experienced organization. As a fledgling
non-profit, we were resolved not to “reinvent
the wheel” by duplicating the efforts of other
organizations. Nor did we, at that point,
possess expertise in housing development or
property management.
Several months of research and discussions led
us to Accessible Space, Inc (ASI), a
non-profit organization nationally recognized
for their development and management of
high-quality, accessible, affordable housing
for adults with physical disabilities and/or
traumatic brain injuries, as well as senior
citizens. More than 25 years ago, ASI was
formed to provide supportive housing options
for individuals with mobility impairments who
had no alternative to institutional living.
ASI opened its first residence in 1980 in
Minnesota and now has supportive housing
developments in 25 states. ASI has completed
over 100 accessible, affordable developments,
and now provides supportive housing to over
2,000 very low income adults with
disabilities.

its activities, we invite you to open the ASI
